                                                HOB JOB DESCRIPTION

The Head of Business who will directly report to the CEO shall run most aspects of the business by directly influencing how the business works, both internally as well as with external stakeholders and partners. He/ She will develop business plans and strategies required for their execution and ensure the smooth progress of the company’s businesses and growth in its profitability. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO. 

  1. Consistent follow-through and resourcefulness, in order to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

  1. Client facing representing the company’s business ideas on the front line, and involved in other facets of the business.

  1. Lead internal teams on commercial and technical aspects in coordination of bids and proposals preparations and submissions.

  1. Develop and implement a strategy and road-map of the portfolio of the company’s products in line with overall business goals and provide a business decision-making and direction for the company.

  1. Managing budget control, along with ensuring that business programs achieve their commercial benefits and operational savings

  1. Responsible for new business & proposals development as well as brand building strategies (Plan towards market improvement).

  1. Monitor market Intelligence within the industry in terms of market development, new projects, competitive activity, new customers’ needs etc.

  1. Responsible for stakeholder management and client handling i.e. Negotiate new business with prospective clients/customer and prospective partners, arranging business meetings with current and prospective customers etc.

  1. Discover, assess, and implement policies that support the expansion of the business as well as make calculations on the customer base and make plans to increase it.

  1. Monitor performance and Investigate the existing or expected challenges and research on ways of mitigating them and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting.

  1. Continually work with the head of operations to define ways to increase operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction.

  1. Regularly reporting on progress against project plans and budgets

  1. Provide a demonstration of the company products to company’s current and prospective clients.

  1. Establishing a viable plan for the Change Programs, encompassing: Development and delivery; Operational readiness and improvement, Adoption; and Efficiencies

  1. Foster or build cross functional teams within the organization to maintain on entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across the work functions.  

  1. Ensure that the regulatory standard for the operation of the new businesses is adhered to.

  1. Directly oversee other departments in the company and to ensure that their performance and productivity measure up to the business needs of the company.

  1. In partner with the CEO, the HOB shall oversee company’s business and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met

  1. Ensure that the company’s business adheres is carried to the regulatory requirements and enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary.

  2. Aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves investor targets relative to growth and profitability.

  3. Continually refine the sales process and ensue that the Sales Team work effectively and priorities workloads.

  4. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the CEO 


  • Masters Degree & IT Background is essential

  • 10+ years of experience [Technology Startups & Enterprises] 

  •  Strong leadership background

  • Working knowledge in Strategy & Business [Investment Strategies, Market Research, Business Analysis, Busine ss valuations, & Business plans] s


  • Knowledge of risk management processes and methodologies 

  • Ability to assimilate business information quickly and translate that into effective plans

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks across multiple stakeholders

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong leadership skills and capable of shaping a team to maximize productivity

  • Excellent decision-making skills, taking ownership and responsibility

  • Ability to build rapport and experience in customer support is a plus

  • Market knowledge

  • Remarkable communication and negotiation skills

  • Time management and planning skills
